THE SWORD'S PATH

As I walk in a world created by my God, but tainted by my sin, I find it behooves me to share some of my struggle, my success, my failure. But most of all, I find a world which desperately needs guidance. In a world overgrown by vines of sin, we must equip ourselves with swords to find and keep THE path. Our sword is of the spirit, the Holy Words of God.

Rom 13:8 MKJV (8) Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the Law.

SPAM (Scripture's Powerful Ageless Messages): God's Covenant

SPAM LIGHTING THE WAY: GOD'S COVENANT WITH KING DAVID

David was brought into power by the Lord over the tribes of Israel during a period of war and separation of the land of Israel. However, through a certain set of sequence only the Lord could orchestrate, all the tribes came to David to pledged their loyalty to the kingdom of David and Israel.

David then brought the Ark of the Covenant into the City of David. However, David wished to build a house for the Lord and Ark of the Covenant to dwell in. The Lord then set up what is known as the seventh covenant with David and his descendants, saying through the prophet Nathan,

2Sa 7:12-16 KJV
(12) And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
(13) He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. (14) I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
(15) But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
(16) And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

The above is a very prophetic statement about the coming kingdom of not only the house of David through Solomon, who did build the temple to set the covenant, but of Jesus the Messiah and his eventual reign upon the earth. Jesus, is traced in bloodline as a descendant of David. More prophets would eventually give additional details of the "Son of David, Jesus Christ, who would fulfill and complete this covenant. This prophecy serves as one of the first of many concerning the coming of the Messiah promised in the Covenant made between the Lord God and Israel in the passage above.

I praise God for allowing those who are not of Jewish decent to benefit from God's everlasting covenant with the House of David and the seeds of Abraham through Jesus Christ. Through faith and grace are we all saved, not only those of the law (Jews) but those of the faith

Rom 4:16 KJV
(16) Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Never forget the Lord's promise that we, who believe in faith in Jesus, shall live under his throne for ever. Give thanks for the love God gives us and the promises he keeps. Hold fast to the Lord's commandments, repent and believe in Jesus, so that we all may have assurance we will live eternally in Heaven with Jesus our Lord.

In Jesus Christ,

Saw the Passion of the Christ

Ok, I finally saw this movie. To be honest, I wasn't excited to see it, nor was I even sure I wanted to see it. I understand what my Lord did for me and I walk under that grace. I don't know that I need it to be visualized for me to appreciate it. However, I thought I should see it. I needed to be able to speak about the movie with nonbelievers.

It didn't wrench my heart or bring me to tears. I almost got angry if anything. It also makes me ashamed. Ashamed of the sinner that I am. There is nothing about me, in my eyes, that deserves our Lord to die so that I might live. We don't deserve this love, people. We don't deserve to be able to boldly approach the throne. Try as hard as you can, you will never be worthy on your own merit.

We have to be under God's grace through Jesus. This is our only way to salvation, freedom, to life. This is the greatest gift of all. Oh how God loves us to shed His blood so that we might all be able to come under His grace. Oh how wretched we must be that our Lord had to shed His blood on the cross that we might come under His grace.

I think this movie made a subtle impact on me. The type that will linger with me for a long time. Some of the images I saw, I will never forget.

Searching

So I've been living in Lubbock over three years now and still haven't found a church home. I guess I'm a little ashamed of this. Not specifically because I haven't been attending church regular but because it's more reflective of the state my life has been in.

Something's changed though. My little girl is 17mnths old. When I found out we were having a baby, some fatherly instincts kicked in. I knew I need her raised in a spiritual home. A church home would aid this cause. So Kim and I decided to start looking for a church after Audrey was born.

But there is something I can point to that really got me fire up about Jesus again. Sometime in May, Kim began reading those Left Behind books by Tim LaHaye. I kinda scoffed at it, thinking he was cashing in by taking an idea and spreading it across twelve books. But eventually, being a reader myself, I picked it up. Well, that book spoke to me. God showed me a group of people without hope, but with the truth. They knew Jesus was their only hope in salvation. So they began getting together and earnestly seeking His wisdom.

I instantly wanted what they had. I wanted a passion for Christ, and I wanted a group of believers to share that passion with.

God has led me to a bible church here. It's fantastic. It's ironic though: they are in between pastors, have a church body of about 60, they don't even have a Sunday school, but I am so drawn to them. I guess it's the non-judgmental attitude permeating throughout the building. I wore a t-shirt to church for the first time since I was a kid. I wear sandals every Sunday. The church doesn't take notes on your attendance and bug you about it. It's laid back, full of love, full of grace, and led by the Spirit. It's like I found a hidden gem buried in the sand.

So I may have found a church home. I am so thankful the search may be over.

I Dream of Jesus

I had this dream the other night. I don't think it was prophetic, but it was very real to me. I say it wasn't prophetic because it was stuck in the middle of other dreams that night. But it was still a good one. Here goes...

I was walking down a residential street with my dad. We were talking, dressed in summer clothes, and just going along happy. There weren't many people around. In fact, I don't remember any. The day was warm but not sunny. It seemed overcast, not uncommon for my dreams. Snowflakes started falling. These were not ordinary snowflakes but big giant ones, like what you might have made in elementary school, about the size of your hand. They were falling as gently as snow can, and were white as white can be. I could see the intricate detail, and they were all different. Dad and I held out our hands and caught several of them.

I then noticed flashing lights in the sky. They had sort of the same brilliance as a "falling star". They were orange as they flew, and had a orange tail behind them. But these were going up, and there were countless numbers of them. They seemed distant but very visible. We looked around and suddenly were surrounded by them. We watched this for a few seconds and I remember my heart beating fast. I was pretty sure what was going to happen next. Dad and I just stood there without words. It was if we both knew eachother's thoughts. There were no words to express what was welling up in our hearts. Words would probably taint the moment.

Suddenly I was in the air heading for the clouds. I looked around and there were no more orange "stars" falling up. Now the sky was filled with white "stars" ascending. I realized at that point the orange were the "dead first" and the white were those still alive. The feeling of being lifted up, snatched, is indescribable. I know how Enoch must have felt.

As I reached the clouds, a figure came from the clouds. I instantly knew this was Jesus, but it was not the classic figure of Jesus. In fact, it was a lion's head with human arms stretched out across the sky receiving us. It was pure comfort. The scene was sky blue mixed with clouds and was.....perfect, without a better word.

I was then just sort of hanging in the clouds with a huge crowd. The throne was there as were other creatures. We were waiting for Jesus to head back to earth and take reign. Then it ended.

I am getting shivers just remembering this dream. Have you ever been so excited about something, say a trip to disney world as a kid, maybe a friday night highschool football game you are playing in, or maybe just a particular rollercoaster ride? Do you know the feeling of when it was finally in front of you, everything you had been hoping for and imagining was for real? It seems almost as if your still dreaming: all that anticipation let loose into reality.

That is the feeling I had. And talk about the joy. I could hardly fathom it, everything we learn about living with Jesus without satan in the background, finally fulfilled. What an amazing dream this was. I wish I could share it with you. I guess in a way, I just did.

SPAM (Scripture's Powerful Ageless Messages): Know Jesus

King Nebuchadnezzar asked for the "wise" in his Judea kingdom to interpret a dream of his. But to be a credible interpretation, the dream had to be described, then interpreted. His heathen magicians came to him and said "there is no man upon the earth that can tell the king's matter." The king got mad and ordered all wise men to be killed. Daniel, considered a wise man, asked for the king's ear before his own death. Before meeting the king, Daniel was given the dream and interpretation from the Lord. Realizing, alone, he is no better than the magicians, he said the following....

Dan 2:20-23
(20) ...Blessed be the name of God forever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
(21) And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
(22) He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
(23) I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.

Those without Jesus, can never know God and his wisdom. Only those who walk with Jesus and seek his council will know God. We should all be continuously seeking God's wisdom, admitting our own is fragmented and flawed. Give thanks to Jesus for the chance to personally seek God and gain his wisdom.
